YOU GET THE CULTURE YOU DESERVE

I don’t know about you, but I didn’t find that the recent Australian Royal Commission into the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry shed much ‘new’ light on the scale of the board’s influence on corporate culture.

There’s a lot of content and guidance on what better practice looks like in terms of how the board’s level of influence on culture, and there have been many cases before this recent Royal Commission that have demonstrated this influence and where the board has failed in terms of setting and monitoring an ethical corporate culture.

But this got me thinking … what are the expected behaviours of a board who was passionate about about leading from the heart and putting people first?

That’s the focus of this week’s episode.

You don’t keep your people healthy & safe because the law tells you to, you do it because you want to, you believe in your fiduciary duty as a company director, and because it’s the right thing to do.Click To Tweet

This week is Part 1 of a 3-part series on what makes a GREAT board of directors who lead from the heart and put people first.

Join me in this video as I outline 5 Principles that each member of the board must demonstrate and fundamentally believe in order to contribute to a board of directors who lead from the heart. These are not specialist skills that one director has; these are the characteristics or qualities that each director needs to bring to the table.

So, let’s get started…

When you’re finished watching, I’d love to know:

  • What is one characteristic that you think is invaluable for a board to have? And why?
